Role Overview:
As the Account Director in Japan, your responsibilities will include managing the entire commercial relationship with our Tier 1 customers. This involves fostering strong partnerships, safeguarding our existing revenue, and creating comprehensive account plans for future expansion.
Additionally, you’ll oversee all aspects of the customer relationship, coordinating functional engagements at both end-user and senior management levels. Your expertise will be crucial in executing our Customer strategy and understanding JATO’s role in supporting it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the individual account management strategies to achieve and exceed the customer growth & retention targets for defined area in line with Gross and Net Retention KPIs for JATO
- Operate at senior level within customer organisations to influence decisions and will be responsible for driving net new revenue and customer renewals within existing customers. Drive customer attendance at marketing and sales events.
- Own the complete renewal responsibility for all designated accounts, collaborating to ensure customers are benefitting from optimal value, based on agreed success measures in line with all required timings and milestones, to ensure a successful renewal by the agreed target date.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to provide proactive insights on usage/application of JATO products to help influence the right purchase outcomes at the level of decision maker in the customer organisation and ensure optimal customer experience, to deliver long-term sustainable account growth.
- Work to review all accounts and required engagement frequency to bring visibility of account status, including any issues/threats that need to be fixed to secure retention/renewal.
- Work with Head of Inside Sales team to coordinate leads linked to strategic projects within owned accounts, agreeing ownership and actions required to close.
- Responsible for defining, executing, and developing a coaching programme for all members of the account team (physical and virtual) to align the sales approach and consistency in value proposition to the customer.
- Work with Marketing to act as “brand ambassador” for JATO to raise, and increase interest in our company, its products, and services to increase engagement, and adoption of the product with external customers.
- Utilise own network and JATO sourced prospects to build a solid go-forward pipeline of business development opportunities.
- Prospects and develops relationships with potential customers to qualify and penetrate an account and develop a strategy to demonstrate JATO’s “value proposition”.
- Working across JATO Teams to create and communicate account reports showing key account status and success metrics, quarterly results and forecasts, customer volume, price points, scheduling of new leads, number and location of customer visits and statistics on sales calls and follow-up visits, to inform the Head of Vertical and senior management of recurring revenue predictability.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree as minimum or equivalent.
- 7 - 10 years’ experience in business development role split between new business development and account management or equivalent in a commercial support role.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
- Demonstrable track record of retention and winning net new business in existing accounts.
- Consultative selling mindset.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of JATO products and solutions.
- Excellent communication and influential skills.
- Gravitas and ability to communicate and interact at senior management level.
- Microsoft Dynamics CRM (or similar, as an example Salesforce).
- Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook.
- Sales Technology – Outreach, etc.
