Role Overview:
As a Senior Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in understanding customer needs and delivering high-quality, tailored analysis and reporting solutions. You will collaborate closely with customers to translate their business challenges into actionable insights, ensuring our solutions drive real value.
You will be part of an European customer engagement team, acting as a key interface between our customers and the Advisory team. Working alongside other customer-facing colleagues, you will help shape strategic conversations and foster strong, long-term relationships.
In addition, you will lead a small team of market analysts, contributing to the development of innovative solutions adapted to local market dynamics. You will leverage your expertise in the automotive industry to enhance delivery quality and operational efficiency, while actively engaging with the Global Advisory team to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
This role can be home based in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted Consultant on customer projects across Europe, with a focus on the UK and Ireland. Engage directly with end users to understand their business needs and deliver tailored data-driven solutions.
- Partner closely with local and global Sales Teams to raise awareness of Advisory capabilities and co-create innovative offerings for both existing and prospective clients.
- Develop and implement analytical methodologies that address complex client challenges. Deliver insights through compelling presentations that drive strategic decision-making.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and timely delivery of client reports and analytical outputs, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
- Conduct rigorous quality assurance checks to uphold high standards of accuracy, relevance, and presentation across all deliverables.
- Share analytical knowledge and best practices with the wider client-facing team to enhance their understanding of reporting requirements and support the development of both standardised and bespoke solutions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of project activities using internal tools such as Outlook and Activity Tracker.
- Review and approve report quotations, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and aligned with JATO’s delivery capabilities.
- Monitor key macro trends in the automotive industry—including regulatory developments, technological innovations, and evolving consumer behaviours—and identify opportunities for JATO to provide thought leadership. Contribute articles and insights for online publication.
- Operate in accordance with JATO’s guiding principles, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic vision and values.
- Provide leadership and support to a local team of analysts, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture and driving continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Industry Insight: Solid understanding of the automotive ecosystem, particularly OEM and OES environments, with the ability to translate market complexity into actionable insights.
- Strategic Pricing & Product Expertise: Strong background in pricing management, product marketing, or volume/sales planning within the automotive sector.
- Enhanced Knowledge: Apart from OEM and OES a plus is familiarity with automotive retail sector, leasing operations, financial sector and/or consultancy work.
- Client Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen actively, understand client needs, and build lasting relationships.
- Analytical & Quantitative Skills: Proficient in data analysis, statistical methods, and quantitative problem-solving. Able to interpret complex datasets and extract meaningful conclusions.
- Advanced Excel Proficiency: Skilled in using Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, modelling, and report creation.
- Presentation & Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. Adept at building clear, persuasive presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Project Management: Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks effectively, and delivering high-quality outcomes under pressure.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Experience leading teams and collaborating across functions to drive performance and innovation.
- Thought Leadership: Ability to identify emerging trends in the automotive industry and contribute to strategic discussions and published insights.
