Role Overview:
The Account Director is responsible for the end-to-end commercial relationship with the customer whether new business or renewal, with their main focus being on new sales, growth of existing customers through upselling and cross-selling, as well as any contractual issues, pricing and quotations. The Account Director will work with the Head of Vertical, in collaboration with the wider business to agree on the customer strategy for individual Tier 1 corporate customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Growth, Retention & Revenue
Execute account strategies to achieve and exceed growth, gross retention, and net retention targets.
Drive net new revenue, renewals, pilots, and expansion opportunities within Tier 1 accounts.
Develop and maintain a strong, forward‑looking pipeline using personal networks and JATO‑sourced leads.
Create and execute New Business Acquisition Plans aligned to customer organisational and political landscapes.
Customer Relationships & Renewals
Operate at senior and executive levels within customer organisations to influence strategic decisions.
Own full renewal responsibility for designated accounts, ensuring timely and successful renewals.
Partner with Customer Success to ensure customers realise measurable value against agreed success criteria.
Drive customer engagement, including attendance at marketing, sales, and industry events.
Internal Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Work closely across the business to leverage product usage insights and optimise customer outcomes.
Conduct regular account health reviews, identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans.
Collaborate with Strategic Business Development to progress strategic initiatives and close linked opportunities.
Partner across Sales Operations, Finance, and other internal teams to support account execution.
Leadership, Coaching & Brand Advocacy
Lead and develop account teams (physical and virtual), delivering coaching to align sales approach and value proposition.
Act as a brand ambassador for JATO, working with Marketing to increase awareness, engagement, and adoption of our products and services.
Reporting & Forecasting
Produce and communicate clear account reports covering performance metrics, forecasts, pipeline, and customer activity.
Provide senior leadership with accurate visibility of account status and recurring revenue predictability.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
7–10 years’ experience in a business development role, spanning new business and account management, or an equivalent commercial support role
Proven track record of achieving retention targets
Demonstrable success in retaining customers and winning new business
Strong consultative selling mindset
Solid understanding of JATO products and solutions
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Gravitas with the ability to engage confidently at senior management level
